Gulf Coast Arts Alliance Art Market at First Pres. - Jan. 12

Welcome to our inclusive, engaged community! Wherever you are on your spiritual journey, from a strong faith to mostly doubt, you will find you are in good company here.

We believe in asking questions, studying, and learning from one another. We gather to worship God who calls us to love, grow and live transformed lives. We see in Jesus the model we seek: compassion and active engagement, springing from a well of deep spirituality.

Our roots are in the Reformed tradition whose motto is, "The Church reformed, is always reforming." So, we seek to be open to how God's Spirit is leading us, in our context and in our times, to live in God's love.

We meet for Traditional and Contemporary worship, education, the fine arts, health and wellness programs, and service ministries of compassion and support. Come join us! You will be welcome at  First Pres.- no exceptions!

On Sat., Jan. 5, from 11 am- 2 pm, the new year kicks off with the third annual Holy Smokes! "cook-in" with the now famous Boston Butts & Veggie Gumbo menu. Music, entertainment, and fellowship will be a big part of the day. Seating will be available as well as to-go orders for those on the run.

Other culinary events include the community favorite “Eating Mindfully: A Delicious Vegetarian Experience,” prepared by Jennifer Hammonds and taking place on Sat., Jan. 19, followed by a Valentine Special on Thurs., Feb 14.

The Gulf Coast Arts Alliance Art Markets will take place on January 12th and February 9th. Come and take home some local art!
Other adult classes and activities happening to help stay warm on weekdays this winter include art classes: “Praying in Color/Zentangle” and “Art 101: Facing the Blank Page without Fear!” with instructor Carol Edington, Line Dancing classes for adults (various levels) with Jackie Clair, “Sewflakes”, Island Quilters, “BrainSharp: Creating More Pathways in Your Brain!” led by Kayla Dowling, Chair Yoga with Jennifer Hammonds, and an intriguing seminar series for adults, focusing on the latest research encompassing many facets of retirement life (factual, fun, forward-thinking and informative).
